Electrical and Opto-Electronic Engineering Department was established in Sep. in 2016, with four majors including Electrical Engineering & Automation,  Building Electric Technology & Intelligence, Opto-electronic Information Engineering, and Light Source & Lighting. Among them, Electrical Engineering & Automation was selected as a professional pilot reform major in Anhui in 2013; Light Source & Lighting was selected as a new major for specialty reform and revitalization in Anhui in 2013.

The department now has4 teaching and researching officesfor Electrical Engineering, Opto-electronic Information Engineering, Building Electric Technology & Intelligence, and College Physics; two laboratories for Electronic Engineering and Opto-electronic Information Engineering , with 34 professional separated compartments; besides, we have five research platforms of Intelligent Lighting & Display Technology Engineering Center, Quantum Control & Automation Research Institute, Atom Molecule & Applied Optics Research Institute etc. Experimental instruments here are worth over 20 million Yuan, and our laboratories cover more than 4000 square meters.

We have a staff of over 40 people, with 38 full-time and part-time teachers, among which, 6 professors, 11 associate professors, 34 people with a degree of Master and above (12 Doctors). Teachers of our Department have great achievements in scientific research. Over 100 papers have been published (30 were collected by SCI and EI), and more than120 patents were applied (4 patents for invention). Students of our Department have won prizes at provincial and above level. In recent years, the employment rate of our relevant majors is 95% and above.
